1898 Colt Model 1878 Frontier .45 LC Double Action Revolver 5.5
Manufactured in 1898. This large frame revolver features a 5-1/2" barrel with integrated rear notch sight and blade front sight. Top of the barrel is stamped with a single line Colt address and the left side is stamped "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER". No patent dates or caliber markings but appears to be chambered for the 45 Colt. Left side of the frame is stamped with the Rampant Colt logo. The number "50" is stamped on the left side of the frame at an angle and on the right side below the cylinder. Six-shot fluted cylinder with thin hinged loading gate. Cylinder serial number matches the serial number on the base of the grip. Birdshead style grip with original factory Colt synthetic grips with oval Rampant Colt embossed. Swivel lanyard loop on the base. CALIBER: 45 LC. S/N: 38423. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Retains 40% blued finish with most wear on the barrel and ejector shroud. Cylinder has dings on the edges of the flutes. Grips show wear and left side panel has large chip at the bottom rear. Dark bore and tight mechanics.
