1969 Stunning Weatherby Crown Custom Engraved Mark V .378 WBY MAG Bolt Action Rifle
Custom made in West Germany in 1969 and South Gate custom shop engraved. Features a 26" blued sightless tapered barrel. Barrel has 40% coverage featuring floral scroll engraving that extends 11" from receiver. Receiver has matching engraving with 80% coverage. Top of the receiver is drilled for scope mounts. Blued floorplate has 85% coverage with a gold embossed oval featuring a water buffalo in the African Serengeti scene. Two position safety with jeweled bolt and follower and knurled bolt knob. Engraved trigger guard with serrated trigger. Heavy grain factory Weatherby walnut Monte Carlo style stock with contrasting Rosewood forearm tip and pistol grip cap. Pistol grip features a gold engraved diamond shaped inlay. Deep relief factory carved stock featuring a floral scroll pattern with punch dot background. Bottom of foregrip and both sides of the receiver feature a diamond tri-wood inlay consisting of bony, rosewood and birch. Bottom of the forearm inlay features a gold engraved inlaid plate. Right side of the stock has a larger scale diamond tri-wood inlay. Factory gold plate sling studs. Fitted with a Weatherby brown ventilated recoil pad. Includes Weatherby factory paperwork stating upgrades done in 1988 totaling over $3,500. LOP: 13-1/2". CALIBER: 378 WBY MAG. S/N: P34723. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 98% finish showing very light handling marks. Rear portion of the action is turning a plum tone. Top of the receiver shows sealant remnants from scope mounts. Stock appears to be 97% condition showing light handling wear. Great bore and mechanics.
