Antique Gold Inlaid Vivario & Cali Face Belgium Pinfire SxS Double Barrel Shotgun
Manufactured in Liege, Belgium circa 1880's by N. Vivario and P. Cali Face. Features a 29-1/2" twist steel Belgium proofed 12 gauge pinfire barrels with smooth rib, bead front sight and marked in gold "N.ViVario and P. CaliFace D'Armas A Liege". Floral engraved underlever action with gold deer on right side and gold fox on the left. Dark action locks with floral engraving and three gold deer on each lock. Tang has gold bird in flight with edges of locks, action and tang having gold line border. Locks have engraved serpentine hammers with gold wash border lines. Fine walnut stock with English grip and steel engraved over-the-comb butt plate also with floral engraving and gold border with wounded duck in gold. Gun has double triggers surrounded by blued steel floral engraved shaped trigger guard with gold borders and gold deer on trigger bow and two gold pheasants on tang. Matching walnut opening lever. In total, 12 gold animal inlays. LOP: 14-1/4". DAC: 1-1/4". DAH: 2-1/4". CALIBER: 12 GA. S/N: 7500. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Retains 90% fading twist pattern on barrels with case colors fading to brown. Bright gold work. Stock has traces of a piano type varnish with some field marks and dings. Good bores and mechanics.
