This take-down sporting rifle was Manufactured in 1895. Features a 26" blued octagon barrel with factory rear tang mounted Lyman peep sight, #6 leaf sight and front blade sight. Full length magazine tube. Top of the barrel is stamped " -MANUFACTURED BY THE- / -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.-" and rear of the barrel is restamped "45-90 WCF". Blued receiver with side loading gate. Back of trigger guard is stamped "PAT. OCT. 4, 1894 / JAN. 20, 1885-" and serial number "101677" in script. Per factory quick check - custom ordered with shotgun butt stock. Walnut wood stock and forearm with cap. Includes factory quick check letter that gives provenance to this original factory rifle! LOP: 13". CALIBER: 45-90 WCF. S/N: 101677. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Retains 70% original finish on the barrel with wear on the high edges and on the magazine tube. Sides show lacquer spots from refinish on the furniture. Receiver retains about 50% finish and shows a few dings. Stock shows some light crazing and some dings most notable on the pistol grip area. Frosted bore and good mechanics.
