Made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1895 with factory research stating rifle left warehouse in February of 1896 and was returned for repair one month later in 1896. 26" blued octagon Winchester Steel barrel with Beech front sight and No. 22 rear adjustable Lyman sight with two line Winchester barrel address and "38-55" caliber marking. Blued takedown frame with plain trigger and full blued tubular magazine. Case color level and hammer. Action has "Kate Leland" in script on left side. Select walnut checkered pistol grip stock with smooth steel shotgun butt plate with Winchester hard rubber grip cap. Matching Deluxe checkered forearm with blued nose cap. Comes with Cody Research. CALIBER: 38-55. S/N: 12488. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall 90% original barrel blue with discoloration on handling areas and light case and edge wear. 90% original action blue with edge and handling wear. 10% original case color with bulk in protected areas. Stock has been lightly cleaned with checkering still sharp with some light dings and handling marks. Frosted bore with light pitting and crisp mechanics.
