Made by Winchester Repeating Arms in 1949 and upgraded at an unknown date possibly by Frank Pachmayr. Cody Factory Research states this gun was made in 1949 as a Skeet Grade with dimensions similar to current dimensions. Fitted with matching 28" blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with raised matted rib, twin bead sight, 2-3/4" chambers, ejectors, and Winchester Skeet 1 and Winchester Skeet 2 chokes. Barrels are floral engraved at breeches with quail scene with quail in gold. Muzzles are floral engraved with gold ring borders. Satin finished round action fitted with sideplates, gold washed Winchester single selective trigger and non-selective top tang safety. Action is extremely well executed with left side featuring a wooded background with gold inlaid setter flushing four gold quail. Right side features wooded scene with gold inlaid setter flushing four gold doves. Top of action has floral engraving with serial number and "SAFE" in gold with chiseled flowers on barrel lugs with gold washed centers. Bottom of receiver has floral pattern with six gold inlaid quail in fence row scene. Winchester "Skeet" marking is in gold along with "L" trigger selections. trigger guard has satin finish with floral and wooded scene with gold inlaid woodcock. Custom Feathercrotch walnut hard rubber finish fine line checkered pistol grip stock with Pachmayr hard rubber recoil pad and unmarked hard rubber grip. Matching walnut full coverage fine checkered beavertail forearm with floral engraved satin finished hardware with roller latch. Comes in custom fitted trunk type display case. LOP: 14". DAC: 1-1/2". CONDITION
Overall 98% with light assembly marks. Excellent bores and mechanics. Case in good condition.
