Cal. 45 ACP. S# 93701. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1914 as 1 of 11,600 for Army contract. Correct features include: double diamond checkered walnut grips, flat mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop, long spur checkered hammer, short tang grip safety, left side of frame U.S. Property mark, right side of slide 1911 model mark, "WGP" inspector mark plus checkered w/ undercut slide stop & safety. Type 3 Colt bbl. w/ "PH" proof over chamber noticeably towards rear; "5" in front of legs. "H" provisional proof on rear of slide & by disconnector also having "Y". Spring guide legs not blunt style but sharp tips removed. MAGS: very good 7 rd. 2 tone w/ lanyard loop. Tone line above mag. slot as used on earlier Colts. Appears refinished over light pitting w/ mechanically created upper light tone. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: generic storage box. CONDITION: very good overall appearance as refinished over light peppery oxidation. Sharp markings w/ light scratches around slide stop pivot along w/ typical scratch from improper slide stop installation. All blued bbl. w/ light wear streaks at port. Very good bore w/ hint of frosting. Very good to excellent grips. (21-962/NW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
