Engraved 1969 Weatherby Mark V Varmintmaster 224 WBY Mag Bolt Action Rifle w/ Scope
Manufactured in 1969 by JP Sauer in West Germany for Weatherby. Features a 24" blued round sightless tapered barrel with high polish, stamped "Weatherby 224 MAG." Receiver is a high polished blue stamped on the left "MARK V / VARMINTMASTER / Weatherby PAT.PEND." with the S-four digit serial number on the opposite side. Two-position safety and equipped with a factory Weatherby Imperial 6x62 scope mounted in engraved scope rings featuring floral scroll bordering a buck head. Coin finished floorplate and trigger guard is engraved by Belgian engraver Paul Dubois. Signed "P.Dubois" on the rear of the trigger guard. Hinged floorplate features a detailed wolf bust bordered by floral scroll motif. Stock is a high gloss walnut with rosewood forearm tip and pistol cap. Pistol grip cap has a white diamond inlay. Pistol grip and forearm are hand checkered in a scroll design. Both sides of the receiver feature a diamond bi-wood inlay consisting of rosewood and birch. Stock is fitted with sling studs and a black and white lined factory brown rubber recoil pad. LOP: 13-1/2". CALIBER: 224 WBY Mag. S/N: S4855. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 90% original finish with some light wear and handling marks, most notably on the muzzle. Stock shows light handling marks and a few very faint scuffs. Good bore and mechanics. Optics are clear.
