Made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company of New Haven, Connecticut in 1953. At some point, post-1953, this gun was upgraded by Master Gunsmith Angelo Bee with a full coverage engraved scene using every inch of the frame. This appears to be his early work and is one of the finest examples we have seen. Standard 26" blued Winchester Proof steel barrel with Model 42 marking and Winchester address in 410 caliber with "Skeet" choke marking in gold along with serial number and barrel assembly arrow with barrel muzzle ringed in gold and barrel joint floral engraved and bordered in gold line. Barrel has Winchester factory ventilated matted rib with bead front sight with Winchester Proof mark off to the side. Standard blued tubular magazine with a gold quail instead of a pigeon at joint. Blued full coverage "A. Bee" floral engraved takedown frame with gold line edge borders with gold bordered satin finished farm scene with four gold doves on right side. Left side has gold line bordered satin finish farm scene with four gold quail. Top of action is floral engraved with gold quail at tang. Action has standard Model 42 trigger with push button safety. Upgraded walnut checkered pistol grip stock with Winchester grip cap and butt plate. Swelled upgraded "Skeet" style forearm with standard Winchester "Diamond" checkering pattern. Gun to be pictured in up and coming Angelo Bee Engraving Book. Gun comes in custom Bill Lowery trunk case with Winchester Maker Label and Angelo Bee signed authenticity paper. LOP: 14-1/4". CONDITION
Overall 98% with light operation and assembly marks. Excellent bore and mechanics. Case is in excellent condition.
