Manufactured in 1884, first year of production for the Colt Lightnings. Early three digit production with the safety slide lever in the trigger guard. Features a 26" round barrel with period correct rear semi-buckhorn notch sight and upgraded nickel blade front. Correct barrel stampings with Colt address and Elliot's patent dates. Side loading gate with a 15 round full length magazine tube. Blued action with Rampant Colt logo engraved on the left side. Walnut straight grip stock with crescent metal butt plate. Walnut checkered forearm. LOP: 13-1/8". CALIBER: 38-40. S/N: 702. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Finish has turned mostly to a brown patina. Light scratch on the right mid-section of the barrel. Small groupings of oxidation spots on the right side of the action. Screws show light marring. Stock shows dings but still sturdy. Light frost on the barrel and good mechanics including the safety.
