Made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1892. 24" blued octagon Winchester Steel Barrel in 38-40 caliber with painted sheared blade front sight and Buckhorn rear sight with Winchester two line address. Blued solid frame with full blued magazine, plain trigger and case-hardened hammer and lever. Standard walnut plain rifle butt stock with steel case-hardened crescent butt plate and a non-factory clamshell diamond inlay with "J.B." on it. Standard walnut plain forearm. Solid first year rifle. CALIBER: 38-40. S/N: 9143. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Metal has turned a plum patina with 80% remaining and handling areas turning silver. Case colors have turned brown. Oil-soaked stocks with heavy usage marks. Tang screw and rear action screw are replacements. Visible rifling with dark bore and crisp mechanics.
