George Ulrich Engraved Winchester Model 21 SxS 20 GA Magnum Shotgun
Manufactured by Winchester custom shop in 1948 and includes Cody Museum research. Features rare 30" blued finish 20 gauge special order barrels. Lyman red Hi-Viz front sight. Chambered for 3" shells with ejectors and choked Full and Improved Cylinder. Barrel flats and bores are engine turned with border engraving around outside and left barrel tops. Marked "Model 21 / Winchester / Trademark - 20 Gauge 3 IN". Blued side panel frame with engine turned water table, gold washed single selective trigger with automatic safety. Action has nearly full engraved coverage vignette and dog scene in the 21-6 pattern done by George Ulrich, Master Engraver for Winchester between 1933-1949. Left panel is engraved with a setter scene and the right engraved with pointer in a banner. Trigger guard marked "Engr. by George Ulrich". Blued English grip trigger guard with "JLW" in gold. Dark select walnut English grip stock with 22 LPI checkering and 21-A carving. Fitted with Winchester leather faced recoil pad. Matching 21-A carved and checkered Skeet style beavertail forearm with ebony inlay and blued floral engraved roller latch. Research letter states all options, repairs, and returns done for the original owner, Joseph L. Werner. A fine Model 21! LOP: 14-1/2". DAC: 1-1/8". DAH: 3-1/8". CALIBER: 20 GA. S/N: 21164. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 98% overall with light handling marks. Recoil pad separating slightly at toe. Excellent bores and mechanics. Very desirable 21!
