Made in Suhl, Germany by Imman Meffert, circa 1910. 27-5/8" Damascus 16 gauge barrel beside 43 Mauser caliber steel rifle barrel. Maker marked matted rib with rifle sights, extractors, and sling swivels. Underlever floral and game scene engraved action with Meffert patented "Grip Safety" with double triggers (front trigger is a set), cocking indicators, and steel trigger guard. Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with right handed cheekpiece and attached steel butt plate. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with latch release and horn opening lever and grip safety bar. LOP: 14". DAC: 1-1/4". DAH: 2-1/4". CALIBER: 16/43 Mauser. S/N: 403. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Overall 80% barrel blue and Damascus scene with mostly brown patina remaining. Action has turned a dull silver. Wood has dark oil-soaked appearance with checkering starting to flatten and usual marks and dings. Good bores and mechanics.
