Cal. 45 ACP. S# 980939. Bbl. 5" Colt Type 6 as used on earliest models; "P " on left leg & "G" in front of legs. Mfg. 1943 w/ all correct early features such as: Type 2 finely checkered arched mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop plus checkered w/out milled undercut slide stop & thumb safety. "P" proofs on frame & top of slide. Crossed cannons on top right rear of frame. "FJA" inspector mark. Correct Type 9 Keyes Fibre plastic grips w/out screw rings. Du-Lite finish over sandblasting w/ faint 2 tone appearance about mid point of slide. Sharp clear markings throughout. Correct sights; serrated front & square notched rear. MAGS: 3 very good 7 rd. of which 2 mfg. by Scovill, 1 by M.S. Little (both used by Remington). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Sears 1942 dated brown U.S. flap holster w/ brass stud & square braided tie down. Good to very good w/ light cracking of leather & verdigris around rivets. CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ faint beginning high point wear on slide; light to medium marks on frame mostly around slide stop area plus typical marks from improper stop installation including onto slide. Near excellent bore & grips. (21-1295/NW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
