ALLIED ARMAMENT. Cal. 308. S#. 464. Bbl. 24". There aren't many firearms from the military past of the United States that are as recognizable as the rectangular receiver & perforated bbl. shroud of the Browning 1919. In order to own a legal machine gun there are fees & a fairly lengthy amount of paperwork that aren't necessary for traditional, Title I firearms like hunting & target rifles. This particular Browning was mfg. by Allied Armament & based on the war proven Saginaw gear division model by General Motors Corp. as a functional semi auto. This gives you the opportunity to own such an exciting piece of history w/ out the extra time & expense. This firearm transfers just like any other semi auto firearm. Though the right sideplate states the model as a 1919 A4, several of the conversion parts to create a 1919 A6 are included such as the bbl. carry handle & rear shoulder stock. Front sight is a folding post & rear sight is an elevation adj. ladder marked out to 1800 yards. It may be fired utilizing the included bipod or mounted to a tripod w/ the proper cradle assembly. It currently appears to be chambered in 7.62 NATO w/ the proper bolt & bbl. assembly, but also includes a few spare parts including a bbl. chambered in 8mm for other possible calibers. Common chamberings for this system include 7.62 NATO, 8 mm Mauser & U.S. 30-06. Parkerized finish on all exposed metal surfaces. Right sideplate markings include: "N.O. 464 U.S. INSP. G." / "BROWNING MACHINE GUN." / "U.S. CAL. 30. M1919 A4" / "MAN'FD BY SAGINAW STEERING GEAR DIV." / "GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION". Interior right sideplate markings viewable through ejection port. "ALLIED ARMAMENT"/ "SCAPROOSE, OR" / "SEMI-AUTO". Original parts kit of unknown origin though several parts include Israeli markings which would be common for military .308 chambered military surplus parts. MAGS: 10 white cloth belts approx. 6 feet in length w/ brass grommets. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: basic field manual, A6 stock, A6 carry handle, armorer's wrench, broken shell extractor. A .308 Trunnion shield for link use, a head spacing gauge, spare booster & other unidentified small parts. An aftermarket wooden shipping/storage crate w/ U.S. ordinance mark lettered inside "DUNAY CHEST CO. 1942" & on the outside "BMG 1919A6 CAL-.30". CONDITION: everything appears functional & correct though unable to confirm through live fire exercises. Shiny bore w/ good rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. Spare 8 mm bbl. appears to have succumbed to a broken shell at some point. (21-744/JZ). MODERN. $2,000-$3,000.
