Manufactured circa 1980 in Japan for Weatherby South Gate, CA. Features a 26" blued round sightless tapered barrel with high polish, stamped "USE ONLY 257 WBY MAG." Left hand action receiver is a high polish blued stamped "MARK V / Weatherby South Gate, Calif, Made in Japan". Machine jeweled 9 lug bolt, two position safety, knurled bolt knob. Equipped with Redfield scope mounts and a 3-9x36 Swarovski Habicht scope. Beautiful engraved floorplate with scroll and punch dot background surrounding a gold embossed Big Horn sheep. Bottom of trigger guard has matching engraving. Stock is a 2X walnut Monte Carlo style with rosewood forearm tip and pistol grip cap with white diamond inlay. Pistol grip and forearm are hand checkered with 12 LPI skip-line checkering. Left side of the stock and both sides of the receiver feature a diamond bi-wood inlay consisting of ebony and birch. Bottom of stock features a similar inlay with gold engraved diamond and initials "M.P.T." Factory sling swivel studs. butt stock is fitted with a factory ventilated recoil pad. LOP: 13-1/2". CALIBER: 257 WBY MAG. S/N: H122168. FFL STATUS: Modern.
CONDITION
Barrel retains 96% blue with very light handling marks and very small scuffs near the muzzle. Receiver retains 95% finish turning a plum tone. Stock is in great repaired condition (showing repair at tang) with light handling marks. Good bore and mechanics. Clear optics.
