Manufactured in 1971. This 2nd issue Border Patrol single/double action revolver is one of only 5,356 blued guns made between 1970 and 1975 for both the U.S. Border Patrol services and the commercial market. Built on Colt's Trooper Mk.III "J" frame it features a 4" barrel with adjustable rear notch and ramp front sight. Six round, fluted swing-out cylinder chambered for .357 Magnum or .38 SPL cartridges. Blued finish with beige highlighted stamping. Left side barrel is stamped "COLT BORDER PATROL / * 357 MAGNUM CTG. *" and a single line Colt address on the right side. Rampant Colt logo is also highlighted in beige on the left side of the receiver. Fitted with smooth Colt factory walnut grips with gold tone medallions. CALIBER: 357 MAG. S/N: J66230. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 85% finish with light wear on the muzzle and left rear side of the barrel. Cylinder has turned a plum tone. Cylinder latch, trigger and hammer are a bronze tone. Grips show a few very faint dings. Good bore and great mechanics.
