RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 4612. Bbl. 23 5/8". All visible numbers match. Receiver marked on left rail w/ "Mod98". Receiver ring marked on top w/ "dot" "1943". German Waffenamt 53. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Inverted "V" front sight w/ protective hood. Cleaning rod & bayonet bar are present. All milled furniture except for cup type buttplate. Laminated buttstock w/ duffle cut forend. Forend has "duffle cut" underneath lower band. Upper and lower band retaining spring is present but detached. Walnut handguard. CONDITION: stock has moderate wear, dents, staining & scratches throughout. Duffle cut is loose & has missing chips of wood notable on left side. Metal has traces of blue turning overall gray w/ wear & handling marks. Very good shiny bore. (21-1012/RW). CURIO. $500-800.
