Manufactured in 1902, incudes factory quick check letter. This fancy sporting rifle features a 26" blued octagon barrel with factory Lyman tang mounted peep sight and white bead to ghost ring sight front sight. Full length magazine tube. Top of the barrel flat is stamped with the two line Winchester address, and "45-70" stamped near the receiver. Winchester proof mark stamp on the top rear center of the barrel. Receiver has blued bolt and loading gate. Deluxe factory fancy wood stock and forearm as indicated on the factory letter. Hand checkered pistol grip with Winchester logo pistol grip cap and forearm with metal end cap. Fitted with a factory Winchester red rubber recoil pad. LOP: 13-1/2". CALIBER: 45-70. S/N: 126163. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 50% original finish with areas of brown patina on the barrel. Receiver is now into "the white". Stock shows some light dings, retains 80% finish with sharp checkering. Dark bore and good mechanics.
