Made by Winchester Repeating Arms in 1957. This special order rifle is a Standard weight with 24" blued Winchester Proof Steel barrel in 308 Winchester caliber with hooded ramp sight with 14 striations (used in the 1956-1957 period) with correct Lyman 16B rear fold down sight . Barrel is marked on underside "308-56" indicating 1956 production with correct Winchester barrel and caliber markings in front of barrel boss. Matted finish factory drilled action with correct matching electro penciled hollow handled bolt with three position safety. Blued steel detachable floorplate with standard trigger. Walnut hand cut checkered pistol grip Monte Carlo stock with correct bow type sling swivels and correct Widow's Peak checkered blued steel butt plate. Rifle appears factory correct. CALIBER: 308 Winchester. S/N: 394160. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
95% blue with wear on floorplate and in carrying areas. Bolt has pitting on handle with some cold blue applied. Action shows operation wear and handling marks. Wood has 95% original varnish with light usage marks. Excellent bore and mechanics. Gun appears to be original and correct to Winchester Factory Specifications.
